Anyone fish Moss Lake in Gainsville? I went a couple of weeks ago on a weekday and caught a few small ones. I was shocked to see that I was the only boat on the water. Is it a bad fishing lake or did I just go on a day when no one else did.

Not much traffic during the week, the skis and fleas are out full force on the (summer)weekends. Not a bad lake has some nice crappie. And some bass

Never enough time to learn it though.

Thanks.
I usually go to Ray Roberts but on windy days I may start hiting Moss. Where are the Crappie usually loacated? I noticed the lake has two feeder creeks. I caught my bass on the point in between the two arms.

Wish I had specific info, I have found them around the boathouses/docks. Stumbled on brush the first time at the end of a dock(west arm). I keep checking the docks with a creek or drop near by. I dont mind telling but I'd have to show you.
Since then I found a few that produce, just not consistent. Went once a week when roberts was closed. Havent seen a lake map, except the corp map.

Yep Moss Lake has some good crappie in it along with some very nice bass. The lake is pretty busy on weekends in the summer.

Haven't been on Moss in awhile. There is two creeks that feed there. The one that runs north has good standing timber. I use to fish the creek channels in the creek that runs west. There are brush piles(not marked) Wish I would of had my gps then. Also some docks w/brush under 'em. During fall and winter is the time to fish this one. Skiers and jet skiers get on the lake quick. There is a boat permit that is required for Moss, I think its up to $30. now? Another lake which is a good crappie lake for its small size is Nocona. Just thought I'd throw that out there! Good fishing! Brad
