My Brother In Law actually brought a carp in to weigh at your marina..I think Alma stood there while he weighed it.. I think he turned it in for a lake record..Me, I acted like I didn't know him and bought some minnows. grin

He is the truth, the light and the way.

Nice fish guys, what do you use as bait over there? And rods/reels? We do a lot of carping in England, sometimes it seems that's all people do!!

Same equipment and methods you use in England dogmax. Boilies, tigers, maize on the hair. Bolt rigs, 12'rods on pods with alarms and the like.

Where punters are punted.

Just as a matter of interest, do you make your own baits, or are boilies available commercially? And are you picking up other species on them?

Boilies are available, some do make their own, our retailer is in Oklahoma so stuff doesn't take long to get to us, and we regularly catch lots of catfish. www.bigcarptackle.com

Most of us use particles.

Did you guys get that fish to certified scales??? Just curious, and if so, where did you find them big enough to weigh a fish that big?????

IGFA will certify handheald scales up to 100 lbs and TPWD recognizes IGFA certifications.

I believe the fish was weighed on Ruben Heaton dial face scales.

Very fine scales.

Yeah, Jason's Ruben Heaton has already been IFGA certified for previous lake records, so that's the certified scale we used this trip.

Great looking photos. It's evident you will be telling stories about that trip for a long time.
