My son and I launched out of Longhorn at Benbrook this morning, in search of crappie. woot Met Wiggins and company at a tree out in front of Richardson slough. Fished and visited for a few minutes with no luck and was headed down a little further south on the lake when I snapped the shear pin in the prop on my little boat. cry We tried paddling a little while when thankfully, here came that familiar Sun Cruiser pontoon boat with a willingness to tow us back to the ramp. laugh
Just want to give you a public "Thanks" John. I would probably still be paddling (since I didn't take my trolling motor).
TFF'rs are good folks to know. If I can ever repay the kindness, I'd be more than happy. I guess those crappie are safe for one more day.

John,
I've been broke down on the lake before and it's no fun. We were glad to help out.
Give me a shout some time and maybe we can get out and do some fishing.

Just to set your mind at ease, Jim and I didn't do any good today. We fished all over the lake and caught no fish at all. We didn't even get a bite. I flew all the way back from Tampa Fl. for this!!!!!!!!

Do unto others as you want them to do unto you. Good to hear folks helping others out. Now that's Texas for ya!

Hi John525,

Did you get your shear pin fixed on your boat?

Way to help out JD. That's a gold star up there from the one who's counting.

Hey JD! Yes, thanks. I had one on my bench and had it replaced about 10 minutes after I got home. Sorry about the late reply. Been workin'(Lowe's) gettin' ready for black Friday. Looking forward to next week getting out again. This time with extra pins and my trolling motor. If you'll be around and want to get out, Tues or Wed are my days off. PM if your inclined.
