WOW, nice clear shot. Great end to the story too. I'd have had to find him a home safe from people too.. I've turned dozens of snakes loose but never killed a snake in my life and don't figure I'll ever start.

Most on here preach high and mighty about catch and release and yet you would kill something you are not even going to eat without hesitation. A brown recluse spider is more likely to cause long term damage than a copperhead and it is a known fact that their bite is almost never fatal. I think some of you need to change your panties more often and let the snakes be. Or, if you just have to kill it, at least man-up and eat it. There is plenty of SENSELESS killing of wildlife in the world already. If you want to hunt, hunt. If you want to fish, fish. But don't kill just to kill. It is selfish, disgraceful, and unsportsmanlike.

Copperheads are venomous, pit vipers. Copperheads account for more cases of venomous snake bite than any of our other species. Fortunately, their venom is the least toxic of our species. Bites from Copperheads are very seldom fatal; however, a bite may still produce serious consequences.

Copperheads prefer habitats with lots of vines, vegetation and/or debris. Their coloration and patterning is very effective for camouflage in dead leaves on the forest floor. Copperheads rely upon camouflage and cover for safety. When danger is perceived, Copperheads will usually freeze in place and remain motionless for the threat to pass. This strategy works well in their natural habitat. Unless a person steps on them, grasps them, or otherwise comes very, very close to them, Copperheads will not usually bite. However, the bite will be readily used as a last defense. An agitated Copperhead will vibrate its tail rapidly. The relative abundance of Copperheads and their occurrences near human habitations is the reason bites from Copperheads are at the top of venomous snake bite statistics in the eastern US. Thats why I say to move if you can better to kill if you have small children around

Put it in this guy's mail box.. rolfmao

I usually don't kill them either. Let them go on about their business of eating mice and bugs..They don't like us anymore than we do them.

He is the truth, the light and the way.
