What brand do y'all use? I have seen some that burn out the FIRST time put on a fish! I want a knife that will hold up to saltwater fish that I can use on freshwater fish as well. Any ideas? Thanks for the input!

I have been using the rapala cordless for about 2 years now. Most of my fishing is done at the coast.

Been using the American angler brand for about a dozen years or so. Very satisfied. I keep one in the truck and one in the house. they really come in handy around Thanksgiving and Christmas and for slicing briskets.

I asked the same question a while back and was steered towards an american angler. It works great.

I looked up American Angler knives and they have about 3 different kinds. Do y'all have the one that is built for saltwater or do y'all have the freshwater basic one and use it for both fresh and saltwater fish? I would prefer one that plugs in also.

I got the American Angler MT3. It is 110V and built for both fresh and saltwater. I have only used it on freshwater fish, but it seems plenty powerful.

-Z- I dont want a filet from a wahoo to look like it has had sand paper run over the surface. But if I was cleaning three hundred pounds of catfish, then I might use one.lol

I have had good luck with the Saltwater Piranha's made by Mister Twister. All of them work okay on trout, but a good sized Red will burn those cheap ones up, and when the motor starts getting hot, it will shock the #### out of you. So far no shocks with the Piranha. If you don't like electric ones, Dexter Russell is the only way to go.

Dexter Russell "Tiger Edge" serrated for the tough stuff. Dexter Russell 9" filet knife.
I have yet to find an electric knife better than these.
