I like black body with chartreuse tail. Hold the jig as still as you can.

black&chart for me and dark pumpkin seed...i have also used just a little garlic spike on the tail tip....now i'm by no means a good crappie guy but i have caught about 30-40 in the last two weeks, however only about 8 were 10"or better.plus i'm only fishing the marina @ hubbard and it's only like 8-10' deep there.

For me..it's been white and chart bodies on white jig heads on clear impoundments fishing docks with shade in bright sunlight.

As the sun drops, a red head jig with a glitter chart body works well as a change up.

Evenings have been slow with some whitebass activity as the sun goes down.

I let 'em drop to the desired depth and bring straight up slowly until I get that big thump or in some cases, light thump.

Same here with a pink jighead. Also like the white head/chart body/orange tail. I also hold the jig completely still with a small twitch now and again.

Keep on fishing.

Try not to dismiss those very light taps as bream, cause it's probably crappie...when in doubt, set the hook. Bite has been very, very light here lately.

watch your line, at times the bite is so soft your won't feel it.
If your line twiches, goes slack, or your jig stops falling
set the hook.

Hook sets are free. If something does not feel right set the hook.

That is exactly the jig I used to land my personal best White Crappie this last weekend from a neighborhood pond close by. I also caught a couple of Sunfish on it
