fished all around overlook marina, and managed to catch only two. Threw both of them back. Talked to another guy there, said he had been there all day and hadn't caught a single crappie. But he did reach down into his basket and pull out a five pound channel cat, he caught on a jig.

I might hit the creeks early this winter, I have a hunch that the fish are already there!

Anyone fished the Yegua between Newman Bottom and lake lately?

Was on Somerville today. Got on water at 7am, fished until 3pm. Boated 1 crappie which was 9". Minnows, jigs, nothing worked, however, you didn't need to use the trolling motor if you wanted to troll. Wind kicked up in afternoon and even running the trolling motor on speed 5 wouldn't keep you over anything. Saw nobody catching any fish anyway. I'm putting the boat up for the winter. I think I'll keep tabs on the crappie houses and just fish them. Gas is too high anyway. Haven't heard of any fish being caught up creeks yet.
