ive always used 30lb spiderwire original braid on my spinning reels. now that we discontinued it at academy, its replaced by the new stealth. how does this compare to the original? or should i go with power pro?

PP 30# for spinning, 65# for baitcasting! I also like the Spiderwire Ultra Cast, as it is smoother, but it does not hold up as well, it starts to fray, more than PP.

THe stealth is very good aas is the ultracast---UC cost more but is worth it for me. They used to have Spiderwire Fusion but because of the war(I'm not making this up--its what they told me) they cant make it now!? Powerpro is always sold and Sufix isnt bad. They only braid I dont care for is Fireline and P-line.

For spinning I would go with Izorline hands down.. If you had a baitcaster then I might suggest Jerry Brown. Note, from what I have seen and read, hollow core (Jerry Brown) is best if not used on a spinning setup.
If you don't want to use Izorline then I would give Sufix braid the go ahead. I like it a smidge more than PP when used for freshwater applications.

I have used the original Spider wire braid. That stuff stunk big time. I had to cut a backlash out one day it was so bad. I now use Power Pro for everything including my one and only spinning reel. Never had any issues.

Since Powerpro is round, unlike Spiderwire which is flat, it doesn't dig into the spool like Spiderwire. Bazztex turned me on to Powerpro a few years back and I haven't had a problem since.
