The West side is where a fellow TFF Fisherman found a young girls dead body floating near the concrete retaining wall a couple of months ago.

I guess you could look at the retaining wall as the Iron Curtain. Don't cross it.

In all the years I have been fishing I thought I had seen it all...until last Saturday while fishing a club tourney on lake Arlington.

Here me and my backseater are working a shore line and up ahead of us about 20 yrds is a older man and what appears to be three grand children walking toward the water and rolling a automobile tire and wheel. This was a very nice home they were walking from. They got to the waters edge and pushed the tire/wheel in the water and just watched it float away while the kids just laughed and strarted throwing rocks at it. I couldn't believe that someone living on the lake would do something like this, espesially infront of kid's.

So I asked the man..."would you like for me get that tire for you"...he replyed no and I said "why did you push it into the water" and he said, it came from the water...and I said "so you are just going to throw it back so it can become a navigational hazard for boaters"??? He never said another word as they all just walked back up the hill. Talk about arragant disrespectful people...

I should have reported him to the lake office...the tire floated back up under his dock and I couldn't get to it to remove it from the lake and place it back on his retaining wall.

Sorry for the rant, but that just pi$$ed me off and I still get burned thinking about it.

This was a post in another thread. I was Paul's backseater that day and that dude has NO RESPECT WHATSOEVER!!!! Not to mention he was of Middle Eastern Decent!!!! mad

I lived in Arlington when the lake was built. I grew up fishing it from the crappie barge where Arkansa Ln. ended at the lake to Feather Beach. As I grew older we fished he upper end on Village Creek at a place called Saxons and really killed the sand bass. I don't live there anymore but, it is sure sad to hear that a happy childhood memory has turned into a crack heads paradise. I guess that's the reality but, I refuse to forget.

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

Only half bad. As stated, only the west side park has the shady characters hanging around. The ones I have seen over there listen to Mexican music. The Arkansas Lane Park / Ramp is OK.

Bill,
They tried to steal it from the courtesy dock while you were getting your truck? I am interested in hearing some more details on this.

actually if you live on the lake you have to deal with tires floating up all the time.
My Dad has lived on the water for 20 years. I cannot tell you how many tires we have hauled off, only to find another one to take its place. Now that the trash man will not pick them up, what should we do?
Most of the trash in the lake, comes from the South end of the lake under I-20 where people illegally dump. Then the water comes up & the lake floods with trash.
i dont like pollution, but i do have sympathy for the homeowners.

I had taken my oldest daughter and her boyfriend fishing. When we came in I thought that my daughter and boyfriend where going tostay with the boat, wellthey didn't. As I was getting the truck i noticed a black man walking towards the courtesy dock.

As I was backing the trailer down I saw him from mt mirror jump in the boat. I slamed the truck into park and jerked the keys out. I jumped the hand rail and ran down the courtsey dock with my hand in my jacket, yelling that I was going to shoot him. He jumped out of the boat with his hands in the air. He went up and sat at one of the picknic tabels.

As all of this was going on a man fishing from the other dock called the police. When the police got there they went directly to the black man. To make alonger story short, the police had dealt with him before and he is not playing with a full deck.

Wow, You handled it better than I believe i could of. I always leave my boat keys in the ignition while getting my truck. That is the lake I normally take my kids to since it is so close to the house.

What did he say to you when he passed you on the dock? I wonder what he planned to do with your boat? Can't do much without the trailer in the long term. Pretty much like driving into a court if he stole a car.

I am glad for you and your daughter that it turned out as good as it did. Sorry to hear that you went through that. That is one of the life experiences you don't wish on anyone!

I just played like I had my hand on a gun, he didn't say anything. When I told the cop about my bluff, he had a good laugh.
My daughter and her boyfriend had already left in his truck.

You get your water bill and find someone with a truck and you take it to your local dump! There isn't ONE GOOD REASON to dump anything into the lake!
