anybody use the mustad lip grips? just got them in at academy, only $13. i hear the berkleys rust easy and im not gonna spend $100 for boga grips.

I have a Berkley, never had a problem with it rusting. As with all tackle used offshore, it needs to be rinsed in freshwater. I throw mine in the dishwasher, does the trick.

now we have the new berkely tec lip grips $48 for the pistol grip and i think about $60 for the other one. im probably gonna go with the mustad just cuz they only cost $13.

As long as they swivel they're fish friendly. If they're rigid it can cause some fatality in larger fish. I'm just going from something I heard from muskie fishermen several years ago. I love my Boga. Don't lose it (bungie cord it to the boat or your belt) and it will be worth every penny over the years. They're accurate on weight too.
