Well its November and I am already checking the TP&W site to see when the stocking starts. Fun to catch on light gear and tasty too. Last year a senior next to me caught a 3 or 4 pounder. He started to talking to be about when he was a boy in Nebraska and what he would catch. I have to admit, I enjoyed the time that afternoon.

Where are you guys trout fishing in the Metroplex? I love trout!
Kissmybass, I have had a lot of success catching trout on Mepps #1 or #2 spinners! Depends on how deep the body of water is. I have to use these because I haven't learned to use a Fly Rod yet.

I used to like it but year after year I have gotten tired of catching the little dinks.

trout schedule will come out in next week or so. get out there on first day of stocking and use a super duper lure or roostertail. after first day use berkley power bait. chartreuse or orange or power worms

any egg pattern bait will work, corn, maggots, worms, trout pellets and of coarse you can catch them on the fly
Bowfishing sucks

Little Dinks? Where were you going. I was fishing in Lancaster and I had plenty in the 13" to 21" slot. I know it not a moster 20 pounder but plenty big for me. Fish the ponds where they only put 250 in at one time. They tend to be a bit bigger. Also, check the Trinity River Authority site. They put in some nice ones.

When I was a kid in Massachusetts we used salmon eggs. Never saw them sold down here. Otherwise, use corn or worms. Mepps lures are real good also, but these stocked trout aren't gonna hit a lure right away.

Duncanville is correct--Lakeside park. I hope they put big ones in there again. Also, my friend said he went to some pond in Kleberg. They charged some small amount per pole and they caught four in the 18"-26" range. I'll post the information if I find out.

what's a good bait to use for trout? The only water I have fished after stocking, is the Quadalupe, and that is on the fly. But, people on the banks using light gear, were knocking the bottom out of them with... cheese. Good luck!
