I have removed the rubber trim (bumper siding) and I have removed all the old caulking from boat and I want to reseal it. I would like to use a black because that it is what came off the boat and matches the trim. Anyone got a brand of what to use or what type? I have a 1990 Skeeter SF 175. Thanks in advance.

3M 4200 silicone works well. DO NOT USE 5200!

Hey, Michael. Why not the 5200?

If you use the 5200 and should need some glass work in the future, Mike won't be able to remove the cap if needed. Do as he suggested, the 4200 is more flexible whereas the 5200 is permanent.

I'm just sayin...

Permatex makes a product called BLACK RTV SILICONE ADHESIVE, key word here is adhesive as they also make BLACK RTV SILICONE, The adhesive will work great for what you're doing and has the near same usage as the 4200...Can be found in most Walmarts, and all automotive stores..........
