Yeah, I usually caught them at night by accident on speck rigs or live shrimp.

Why are you after these fish? They make excellent cut bait.

Offats Bayou is where you need to go to catch them with some consistency.

I don't know how to catch them, but I know how to attract them by the hundreds....

For my last trip to the coast I made chum to fish for Shark, within 30 minutes of putting the chum in the water we had hundreds of ribbon fish around the boat.

The Chum was:

3 pints chicken Livers
3 Cans Sardines
1/2 Gallon Manhadden oil
1 can Salmon Catfood
about 3 cups of oatmeal

Ruined a blender blending this mess in 2.5 gallon buckets, then let sit about an hour then put in freezer...

On the water we poked a bunch of holes in the lid and tied off to side of boat....

This mess also put us on top of a school of Bull Reds that you wouldn't believe

Boaters world use to carry it. You can get Online from numerous fishing tackle sites. I have five gallons I bought four years ago I think from capt Harrys in florida.

I got Manhadden oil at Bass Pro Shops, and the Chicken livers I got at the Tom Thumb...

Finding the Manhadden Oil at BPS was Accidental, it wasn't anywhere that I would expect to find it, and the jug wasn't well marked either....

Snag1337

We caught some ribbon fish in Port A last year near the public boat dock right off the walkway at night. They were next to the posts in the darker shaded areas in about 3ft of water.

They will hit a small piece of Shrimp on a #6 treble hook just fine.
