Wow! Days like today make guiding worthwhile. Don and Marcia K. are the kind of folks that make this line of work a whoooole lotta fun!
We picked around the lake for a while starting at 10:00. Ledge by the dam, nada. Gravel pits got us a couple, deadman's had fish but I zigged when I shoulda zagged, couldn't stay on them. Whitehouse...doo-dah.
Stopped by another well known, but overlooked, point. Found steady fish in 23-27 ft of water. Quality sandies... I cleaned a double limit of nice sandies, a good catfish, and we released perhaps 4 hybrids.
These hybrids have a date with Don and Marcia's broiler.

Thanks again Marcia and Don!

Was rough out at Lewisville yesterday--the fishing not the water. Hardly anyone on the lake 2nd shift. Water was like glass. Marked a ton of fish in 1 area but couldnt get them to hit a slab--caught some nice shad. Dropped them on top of the schools and nada. As thick as they looked on the graph you'd think I'd snag at least 1 or 2!!??! Finally picked up a few before sunset at the point south of SP's--still nice to be out -- beautiful weather.

It must have been tough fish wise everywhere. My hat is off to anyone that put more than a couple of fish in the boat this weekend.

well these reports are kinda suprising. guess since i wasnt looking for sandys and hybrids thats why we found them, they were up shallow in the weeds at the cut going from the main lake to the colony side of the lake, we caught about 50 or so and about 20 of them were good filleting size. almost every caste for a while there. we also caught 2 black bass about 3 pounds each so all in all a very good morning.

WOW!!! They did a strange thing there!!!! That is usually a warm weather or springtime thing. Been catching them on deep structure, some way deeper than I ever caught them before. Every time you think you got them figured out...they do something like that!!!!!!
