I might go fishing to Galveston Sea Wolf Park fishing pier during Thanksgiving. I never saltwater fished before, is this good time to go? What bait works best? What kind of line, how strong?

17-20 lbs test and I would use mudfish for catching flounder.

I would rig up and see if I could catch some Sharpnose, trout, or drum.

They will still be around.

I wade the backside before you get to the peir, and have always had good luck. red/ white tails do the trick for me.

Try some shrimp for non-flounder days. Mullet for flounder and sole.

I'm so ready to go down and get a few saddle blankets. It's still too warm though --we need a nice cold front to come through.

Watching the weather but I don't see a front in the near future. Once the cold comes, the big females will be kicking butt.

Im going tomorrow. My question is which side do ya'll fish. I've seen fish caught on both but seems most flounder are caught on the north side. (facing texas city). Any suggestions?
