Fished the opec this weekend with my 9 year old son and the way the fishing has been lately was the way the tournament worked out for us.One day great one day so so.On sat we had 3 fish for 12 lbs and were way out of it,almost didnt wanna go back sun, but my boy insisted and its good he did cuase the bite was, at least for the bigger fish,better, we had 3 fish for almost 19lbs, jumped to 6th place and won big bass for sunday,needless to say he was happy and the "you tell me never to quit" lesson was turned on me this weekend.I know alot of fish in the bc were caught shallow but we stayed deep all weekend 19 to 22ft and were flippin deep trees and casting tx rigs on points, the #s were not as great as some of the shallow fish but I know there are still some big fish deep. Hey Jimmy.. I do believe that there are still a lot of big fish deeper.. But some of the bigger bass are starting to move up a little.. I talked to a lot of people and there were quite a few that did well fishing deep. If you have any pics from OPEC I would love to post them on FLT's site. I just could not make it to the dam over the weekend. Congrats on the comeback!
