what is the best bait to use for some texas red fishing, i fish in the bays in portland, texas, just wanted so get an idea on what god artifical baits work?
Romo please if you read this, can you step it up? My cowboys need another title. Oh and Kenseth if you happen to read this, open a can of man and start winning some races...if you need to borrow a can of man I got extra! That will be all.

Almost anything you would use for LMB will work for Reds.
I always have a topwater (skitter walk, Zara spook, ZS, jr), a 1/8 oz jig head with a sand eel soft plastic, and a gold spoon, 1/8 or 1/4 oz.
Sometimes I'll fish the soft plastic jig under a popping cork.

Topwaters should be used sparingly as of lately, mostly in the morning if you can see them schooling. If you are going to throw tops use a bone colored Jr Super Spook or Pink/chart. Top Dog Jr's.
Remember its all how you work the bait.

I fish soft plastics. Just be sure to throw past them and reel in front of em. Anything you use for trout will work for reds.
