I have been wanting to fish Ray Roberts, but I have never been on the lake. I live in Plano so it is not too far for me, I am looking for LMB. I have been fishing Lavon and it just isn't great for Bass, or I just can't find em. Anyway if any of you can give me some tips about Ray Roberts I would really appreciate it. Where to put in and what to look out for...etc.
Thanks, Conrad

Conrad:
With the water temps dropping like they are, here's what I would do.
Launch at Buck Creek, go right under the highway bridge, and start on the right hand side bank just past the point - fish it all the way back. The bass are in various stages of the creek, so starting on the outside, deeper points and working your way back should locate them.
Throw shallow running crankbaits (no rattles, if you have those) , white spinnerbaits, watermelon flukes on a split-shot rig - fish shallow.

Thanks for the info, I will check that out. What color jigs at Ray Roberts, are the Sand Bass biting on jigs or minnows? Hope to get out later this week when the wind dies down, Thursday maybe Friday....

Not sure about the sand bass, but I've heard slabs in just about any color once you've found them. I'm thinking main lake toward the dam.
Jigs for bass at RR should be in the green pumpkin/red variety; but white is also a producer with the bass orienting to the shad.
Good luck and let us know how you do!
