So My wife and I are out driving around with her brother saturday afternoon before the UFC fights. We decided to go by Lake Nacogdoches and check it out. We decided to hit the Westside after the fights. After a short Walmart trip we hit the water around 1:45am. I only planned on fishing for cats so we were both rockin the heavier gear. There was a guy crappie fishing down the way and was reeling them in just about every cast. So I threw a 4lbs leader(smallest I had with me)on and luckily I had a crappie jig Josh Moreno from Last Chance Tackle in Hemet, CA made for me. I musta caught a dozen and my brother in-law caught a half dozen. We hit the road around 4 with the final count of a bakers dozen of decent crappie 2 kittens 1 keeper channel and 1 keeper bullhead. All were returned to the lake to grow bigger for next time. Next time Ill bring the camera to spice up the post. Im just very excited about my first Texas crappie.

WTG, thanks for sharing! thumb Sounds like yall had a blast.

Seems like that happens to me just about every time I try to fish for another species, get down there rigged up for big cats, or bass, and somebody's wearin' the crappie out. My crappie stuff don't ever leave the boat anymore now! grin
