Basspro has thin neoprene glove that has fold up fingers about 10.00 a pair. Thin, somewhat warm and water proof.

Neoprenes. Bought them with 3 fingers exposed and then I customized them by cutting the other two finger tips off. Once you get used to them you really forget you have them on. They stay warm even when wet.

thermax glove liners for myself. If it gets below zero I put on a second pair. They are thin and keep my hands warm. I can still tie knots I don't get the feeling that my rods/reels are now too big. Watch out for hooks though. They seem to reach out and grab every single hook they can get close to.

I use a pair of flyfishing mittons I got in Alaska. They are wool with fingers and thumbs cut so they can flip back. I usually just flip the thumb back on my casting hand for feel on the spool. Even when wet they are very warm.

There are some great fitting gloves available that are used by auto mechanics. Like a few of the posts here before me, I cut the tips off the fingers (but just enough to stick my finger tip thru and have the ability to tie on hooks/lures). They also come in handy on the cold days on the water (or off) and you have to fix something. Stops those cold KNUCKLEBUSTERS! Reminds me to get mine out... Fall is on its way in up here in Chicago area.. Ahh... only 5 more years to retire and move to Texas!

I use to live in Midwest (fished in Missouri during Nov through Feb) and these worked VERY well in cold months so I have really taken a liken to the ones I have been using for many years. They are very affordable. They offer a combination of windproof fleece, and neoprene palm for a good grip with insulation between it and your hand. More importantly, they are fingerless so they wont hamper the feel of a "bite" or retieing, etc. The problem I find with neoprene is that as the material gets cold itself, it transfers the temp into your hand. When I was running my boat down the water, my fingers would get very cold. Anyway, these are insulated neoprene. Good luck! http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa...&hasJS=true

We live in Texas how cold can it get? I live in South Texas and it gets cold. Ice in the guides, Ice in the beard. You are a lot tougher than me if you can run the lake at 40-50 mph in 35* weather barehanded. LOL
