I'm mounting a transducer to the trolling motor up front. At least that's what I'm attempting to do. I've got the unit mounted and powered up however, I need suggestions for attaching the transducer to the trolling motor. I have the big clamp to clamp it to the motor.
What is the best way to attach the transducer to the clamp. The clamp doesn't thread through the transducer mount properly enough to attach it to the trolling motor. I'm sure there are a lot of you guys that have done this install. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Mike

I'm not sure I follow what the problem is from your description. If it's puck type transducer then it should have a couple of tabs or a slot for the large hose clamp to run through. Then the hose clamp has to be large enough to fit around the lower unit. If you're mounting a skimmer type transducer, you may have more challenges.
I have mounted several of these because I'm really bad with transducers vs stumps. The last time I broke one off though I used JB Weld to attach it to the lower unit. This is probably not a factory recommended procedure but it has worked very well since and I've bumped a lot of stumps with it too!

Thanks for the reply. It is a skimmer type transducer. I just completed mounting it. It's not the prettiest mount but I believe it'll get the job done. I ended up drilling a couple of small holes in the clamp and attached the transducer to the clamp with screws. Can't wait to get to the lake to play with it. Mike

You can buy a mount that attches to the trolling motor and then to the skimmer transducer at BPS or Cabelas.
I stumbled across a trolling motor transducer guard called Wee Vee that protects the transducer from stumps. Do a Google search on Wee Vee. I ordered mine online from three rivers marine.

I have reused two broken transducers by drilling a 1/4" hole thruough whats left of the tab. They break right by the factory bolt hole so there may be enough left to drill a new hole if you break one.
