They are a great lure. I always have one ready to go on a spinning rod. I usually like to slab, but sometimes the humdinger has caught them better than a slab, and they work REAL good when the fish are rolling around on top. If I could only have two lures it would be my TNT slabs and my Humdingers.

1.5 - 2 ounce. I like the 1.5 ounce casting spoons, the 2 ounce prune picker type slab, and the 1.5 ounce 180's. Occasionally I will go with a 1 ounce, but very rarely anymore.

They are absolutely the worst baits I have ever fished with, send them to me as I know how to dispose of them properly Seriously, they have been my hottest bait this year for sandbass. I also caught my first decent sized hybrid on one this year. The great thing about them is they're not a one dimensional bait. They can be fished shallow or deep and they cast like a bullet. White with glitter has been my #1 color so far.

I bought a bunch at one time, but found the heavier versions tend to tangle my line in the spinner - but I have caught fish on them!! And buck07 - tnt slabs - I have caught fish on all sizes depending on the bite - match the slab size to shad size. They are by far my favorite slab. Great lure - too bad I did not order 1000 before end of production!!!!
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he has to buy rods, aluminum reels, monofilament lines, nets, tackle boxes, lures, spinners, worm rigs, slip sinkers, offset hooks, gore-tex hats, polarized sunglasses, fish finders, depth sounders, radar, boats, trailers, global positioning systems, coolers, six packs...

Try not to cast it 1000 yards that is when I get the most hooks on the line Also I only let about 8 inches of line out when I am throwing. But they still will get hung up sometimes. When you use it like a slab do not jerk it up/// just lift it and lower it

Nice baits. I jig them both vertically and with short casts and you can feel the blade turning very easily - - if the blade stops thumping, set the hook! Got my personal best hybrid this spring on a Humdinger. And I find them very effective when I troll shallower water too - - just add a swivel to the back wire, 3-4 foot trailer line, and trailing bait of your choice (Hum-Pet). I've caught a bunch of fish this summer, both sandies and hybrids, using a 3" Storm Wildeye or Berkley Realistix swim bait as the trailer - - some days they like the Humdinger better, some days the trail bait, and lots of days doubles!! Wooo Hooo!!
Never do card tricks for the group you play poker with.

Hummdingers have a lot of uses. Slab with them, troll, cast at surface action and you can dead stick 'em in the Winter. Mostly I use them when I believe the sandies are suspended in the area. Medium cast on a baitcaster and try different depth in the water column. Another use is to re-locate a school of fish that have wondered off the spot. Fan cast around, slow roll it off the bottom and whammo. You can cover a lot of mid-depth bottom quicker than you can TM around looking with electronics. I find them quite often. A must for any serious sandy/hybrid fisher.
He leadeth me beside still waters.

I've had too many problems with the tangling up--good lure when it doesn't tangle up-I just dont care to have to mess with that. I have other lures that dont have that issue--I've considered trying a circle hook on one to see how that works. With that being said I will be using them at Port A this weekend for smacks. Since I'll be using steel I dont have to worry about the tangling.
