Silver Dollar Slabs are good slabs despite what they look like.

right now on just about any lake a slab will catch sandy/striper or hybrid. find fish on flats and work the bottom lifting and dropping while keeping a tight line. at the top of the lift give it a little shake "10-25ish" for bottom or find them deeper and work all the water top to bottom. be prepared for strikes on the fall. also knowing your lakes structure really helps. there are many ways to fish a slab...it's endless! watch for gulls and pull up-wind and drift through the schools. you are bound to catch some. good luck!

Bart Mitchell, Welcome to TFF. Man there is a ton of good info in here, so keep reading and asking questions. If I'm not mistaken Bartemus (of Lake Tawak fame) works at BPS Garland. He's a sandy/hybrid fisherman. I bet he'd lead you in the right direction.
The main thing I don't like about the slabs from Academy is they throw the hook over the line more often than not. I don't have many 180's, but the ones I DO have do not seem to have this issue.
He leadeth me beside still waters.

iamquockie, I havent read any posts of you fishing any of late man you need to get out there... yes sir!!! I have been fishing denison dam as of late...I just haven't found the time to get out on the area lakes due to the tags on the boat being out, and since it is registered in my uncles name (he is the previous owner) it is kind of hard getting tags for it since he is currently out of state. I am really waiting for the colder weather to set in and for the boat traffic to die down even more so I can weekend fish without all the jet fleas. IMO good alternatives to the 180 if you can't get your hands on some are the bomber slabs and Cotton Cordell jigging spoons. I've caught many a fish with the CC spoons.
I don't really know what to type here.

Thanks everyone, thanks for the info too, I'll pick up some Dollar slabs and add them to my new arsenal. By the way, If youve seen an old 1988 grey 24' Party Barge with orange stripes and a 10'grey bird pooped canopy out on Hubbard, that was probably be me.

Its really hard to judge something unless you test drive it first, Right. There are many slabs out there, but I can assure you that the quality of our hand made slabs are hard to beat.

Silver Dollar Slabs are good slabs despite what they look like. I'll second that. They were my favorite before I discovered the TNT's. I always upgrade the hooks on the Silver Dollars. The ones they come with are not the greatest. The price is right, though.
You are not a good or nice person.

BTW, It might be my fault the TNT 180's are gone. Just as i was gonna order a dozen from all the response's, BAM there gone, NO MORE, NADA, Kaploowee, Adios. Seems that I always get in late or not at all!!!!
Anyway, if someone would like to part with a gold/red, white or chart 180 I'd be very interested.

bubba, just keep your eye out on the forum... we might get lucky and he has a big sale or something Sounds like the best advice I have read on here yet, hey you must know something, . Guys I can tell you there will be more 180's & Haymakers down the road, not too awful far away, the rest of them baits I carried, I wouldn't hold my breath on. Not that they weren't nice or didn't work, just gotta make it easier on me. If you have those two baits why would you need anything else, but then again I have been wrong before...The way I see it, let the sandies, hybrids, and stripers dictate that. Now how many there will be when I get them available...dunno. But not a whole lot. Cause I have gotten back to fishing to much these past couple months, and I am looking forward to it next spring, summer and fall, There's only so many hours in the day. There's more than enough guys on here that carry slabs that can sell all you might need to get by till then. By the way, even though my website is off I have been taking orders from people who are willing to wait awhile for them, who let me do them at my pace. If your interested, in getting in line go for it, the wait right now is 4-5 weeks. If you need something quick, I wouldn't even waste my time asking, cause I am not playing that game any longer(believe me I have done a lot of that, and I am done with it). I don't blame anyone for ever wanting something right when they pay for it. But you have to be realistic...I always have been a guy to never say no to people before, and it has costs me a few times. I think you should do what you can for any customer,as long as it is within reason. But I am not sitting here in a sweatshop with an assembly line of lots of employees either. I know how to make baits quick, for a fast turn around, but I choose not to make baits like that outta my preference. I have seen some baits out and about that I would be ashamed to sell to people. Oh sure they catch baits, but heck I can take a wrigley's foil gum wrapper with a hook and small split shot and catch a fish. I don't work that way. I know what I like in a slab and thats the way I want them to be. Price on my baits at this time , well they are at a price that is different from most other baits. But then again isn't the bait different as well, you get what you pay for guys. If interested shoot me a pm from TFF or an email to bryonnolan@yahoo.com. I will be out of town for a few days but will get back to you asap. Thanks, and good fishing.

rumor has it they're going for 12 bucks on the black market... Or get some from Mario 22 Tunnel at Dakota Tackle they make an A+ quality bait similar to a TNT 180. I couldn't agree more. http://www.dakotatacklecompany.com/
