I am gonna have to say that i know so little about the navy, i could use some of its history in my head. I am a historian when it comes to marine corps history. But i will have to explore i amsure my oldest would love to learn about it too.
Romo please if you read this, can you step it up? My cowboys need another title. Oh and Kenseth if you happen to read this, open a can of man and start winning some races...if you need to borrow a can of man I got extra! That will be all.

If you are really interested you can research back to the original Republic of Texas Navy. A number of actions took place out of the Copano Bay area between the Mexican Navy and the Texas Navy. The Texas Navy even intercepted and commandered U.S. vessels trading commerce with Mexico during the Texas Revolution. Of course back east that was considered piracy. Of course all that has been overshadowed in history by the gallant stand at the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. Moving on to more recent times Waldron and Cabiness fields are named after heroes of the Battle of Midway. The "Lady Lex", my old ship is permanently docked in CC Bay.
At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

Been in TX for a little and it's time to drag me out.
Anyone know about the fishing near Scott AFB? East of St Louis, west south/central Illinois.

DribbleZoo, When I was stationed at Scott we use to go to Carlyle lake. I know there are a lot of other lakes in the area.
