Hey how is everything? I have been thinking alot about this, just wanted to hear oppinions. I have a jon boat, and was thining about how many times, (when i had a bass boat) how fun would it be to fish tourneys in a jon boat. it would def be alot harder, but i thought it would be fun. So here is my idea. I want to start a Jon Boat Bass club. My plan is to get as many people involved as possible. If i get enough positive support i would like to start it in february 2008. i live in portland texas so it would be a south texas area tourney. but all your ideas would be a help. first tourney will hopefully be held at choke canyon resivior. input please! It would be jon boats of all sizes but no more than 10hp outboards.
thanks
Chad Martin

Romo please if you read this, can you step it up? My cowboys need another title. Oh and Kenseth if you happen to read this, open a can of man and start winning some races...if you need to borrow a can of man I got extra! That will be all.

Sounds like a great idea. If those float tube boys can do it why not jon boats.

Great Idea, but just a little issue i had when fishing out of small boats. That was a good arriation system most people with a small jon are not going to invest in a good bait or well tank to help keep the bass alive. IF you do get this off the ground you might check with the other anglers, and see what there ideas are on keeping the fish alive. On a stringer is not the way to go. Again great idea hope it works out for you..

I did a google search a while ago on jon boats and there are some significant boats out there! I have a jon boat that I use for duck hunting and I was trying to get some ideas for modifications!

Is a bass tracker considered a jon boat? I've always pondered this question....

i know that this was an issue for a while, but if you do what i did, and get a 20 dollar cooler, then get a 20 dollar pump from walmart, you could construct one for under 50 and it will keep the fish alive all day. i know because that is what mine is. i have modified my jon boat with decking, foot trolling motor, livewell two storage compartments, dual batteries switch box and driver an passenger seats, and 2 fishing seats. so if you have any questions, or need any pictures let me know.

oh and as far as 25hp or as far as 10hp or less. i think it is fine, i just want a club that does not use bass boats with 150s on the back rakin wakes every five mins with out a care in the world twards the person 10 feet away tryin to call up a monster.
i dont think a bass tracker is considered a jon boat... since it a boat widely used in professional bass associations.
