Ummm Brian has his facts wrong I never had any help on my first tuna nor any of the other two I had. I never once handed my rod off to anyone else nor did I have someone holding the rod for me while I reeled the reel LMAO! And most of the fight was with me fighting that fish without a belt. I have the gimble scars to prove it LOL. And when I did ASK for a fighting belt. Brian and them thought it would be funny to let me fight my first tuna with a gimp arse slip on cracker box belt. Once Capt Eddie put the harness and plate on me I had no problems. That fish kicked my arse. I dont think it would have if I had the fighting harness with plate from the begining like ummm some others had hahahahaha. As a matter of fact I had no problems the rest of the trip. I was ready to fight more fish.

And ummmm BRIAN hahahahaha I am not a self proclaimed VET like you. And I do recall hearing some whining inbetween your naps of how wore out you were hahahaha lol. Not to mention you shaking and thinking of calling 911 once you got back to camp OH MY! HAHAHAHAHAHA! TOOO FUNNY.

All in all a great trip and Capt Eddie is top notch. I am planning on using him again very soon, and its already in the works. And Will is a hoot. I hope he is able to come along on my next trip. And this next trip I will leave behind my jigging rod and take my chunk rod along with my popping set up.

ooooh! that hurts. Ya, somehow through all the fun, I never ate
in 19 hrs! that'll put a guy like me down in a hurry.
I truly was worried until I found that cantaloupe, I bet I ate half that thing in like 15 minutes! Low blood sugar sucks, man!
but tuna have a way of doing that to ya! just me,but I like it
when I'm out-classed, just increases the drive to win.
never saw me with a rod on the rail though...........
all joking aside, it's so cool to open a new page of angling
for other people. tuna are tough, and it's great to get more
people into it.I Know, cause after the first one, you hooked for life!
tight lines

I never said anything in my post about whooping the tuna I caught. Sure I needed help, never said i didn't and not embarrased to say so. Danny did a great job fighting his tuna. It does make all the difference in the world to have a plate and harness that is set up correctly. The first tuna was all arms for me and I was wore out. I got progressivly better on the next two though and didn't need much help on my last one which was the biggest. I was using my penn 30 on that last one and forgot about the other gear that I thinked would have helped. Post all the pics, I would luv to see them all. I posted everyone I took and again I had a blast. I will have my own plate and harness set up for my next trip. Hungry for some fresh tuna right now. I will also put my gym membership to use before the next trip. My guns (arms) felt like cap guns. LOL

I am exempt. That was my 3rd,4th and 5th YFT for me! But I didn't eat it on my first either, but there is no grandfather clause!

That was not my first YFT well the ones I caught before off of the Dolphin Docks really dont count they were only 20-30lbers. Those you dont need harnesses for. I will post up the pics tomorrow night for everyone to see.

Brian that one pic of the big tuna jumping out of the water did not come in too clear. You can see a spec in the air which is the tuna but if your not looking for it you would not think it is a tuna.

Joe you did fine. I was just messing with you. All that matters is everyone had a great time. We caught alot of fish and have memories to share for a lifetime. Having the right equipment matters when fishing for these beasts.

Dang! that was the one shot I hoped came out.
Well, it was way cool just the same!
I haven't seen any pics of Tony & his fish either.
I thought I had one, but it's not in my camera.
Charlie, you're right. You HAVE TO DO THIS TRIP!
how about you, Jerry, Ronnie and Matt put a charter together
to coincide w/ ours in Jan? it appears it's gonna be real cheap
and Eddie has 2 boats.........
