what, not enough? OK, here's the deal: we got up around 6am fri morning, hooked up w/ tony, & met Eddie & his mate, Will, at the dock loaded up & we're out by 8:30am By 10:00, we're tuna fishing, with blitzes of small footballs going off everywhere, blacks, yellows about 3-5 lbs, with some skippies thrown in. mad a bunch of chunk bait, and moved out to a rig 17 miles offshore in 2500 feet of water(that's right). we were marking some good fish, so we put out a chunk and a livie, while everybody threw poppers. 4 guys throwing at the same time w/out tangles or injury seemed to come naturally anyway, no luck on poppers or jigs through the day, but the chunk was the deal. pretty steady, with 2 fish for each angler by 5:00 pm. The noob action was in full effect w/ angler [censored]-kickings going on quite frequently. Danny, Greg, & Joe all earned their "fins" and well done, men! I was very happy to be aboard to see the biggest fish of these guys lives. that's the best part, I think. I'm sure it won't be the last, by a long shot! Sunset came and the bite went off real good. big tuna getting airborne everywhere! hhokups became more frequent, with Will bagging a nice 65-70# er on the OTI rod w/ a cabo 60. talk about line-screamin' fun.... Greg got bent on the popper later on, but this time the tuna dumped that 60's spool pretty quick, and POP! it was over. Eddie finally called the trip @ 8:30pm due to full limits(and boxes!) I can't say enough about Eddie. He & Will are the funnest guys I've fished with in a loooong time. He is a first class guide, and when it comes to tuna, he'll deliver the goods, and then some! first time I've ever limited on YFT, let alone in just 10 hrs, 17 miles offshore! Thanks to Danny, Greg, Joe, & Tony for joining me on this trip you guys had me laughing the whole time! Those "brokeback tuna" moments were hilarious! Watching you guys get your asses kicked by fish was just as funny! things I learned in hindsight: 1.) Making Eddie's boat look like a porcupine w/ all our tackle-ho'in junk was cool, but not necessary. I could have done it w/ my pro-30 and a pocket full of 6/0 circle hooks 2.) you really can't hook big YFT's on a jig. 3.) Venice kicks [censored] on texas (sorry) when it comes to accesibility to big pelagics, we were hooked up to big yfts in the same time it would take the big E to clear the jetties 4.) I'm buying another Cabo, totally proven on this trip! side note- My modded-out Penn 8500ss is for sale, cheap! 5.) Eddie is the best gaffer I've seen, except for yesterday. On friday, I watched him show off & stick a 60# yft in one eye and out the other-coooool! very cool! Joe, you can post the pic link, now tight lines everyone! -Brian

I hope this link works. I would like to add that this was the best trip I have ever been on. Thanks to Skeeteronnie for getting us started and Brian for finishing it off. I met some cool fishing peeps that I would fish with again anyday. Great co-operation on the boat. Greg was a boat cleaning machine. http://s21.photobucket.com/albums/b277/JoeLivingston/Venice%20La%20%20Capt%20eddie/Note there are 3 pages of pics. Others took pics and will post soon I hope.

I actually got 2 on my first big E trip. But they were little. Around 20lbs. These fish felt a bit different on the end of the line. I have enought meat to last along time. I will probably get some meat on Seis, but I want a big YFT now. The BFT are fun, but nothing like the ones on this trip. Let me know if you want a chunk of YFT if you are out. I know you had a freezer issue awhile back.

LOL Joe how do you expect to get a big YFT when you could not handle the ones you hooked by yourself. I got those pics I took of you and Will. LOL dont make me post them. Tell the truth you got punked on all three of those fish hahahaha. Just imagine what a 100# + will do to you.

Hold on there, hoss! I got some incriminating evidence of you getting help on your 1st 60#er, too. Everybody gets punked on their 1st YFT. anybody got a pic of me & that 100+ from Quatro? I think Bristow's got one of me on my knees! -Brian
