Went out for the first time this morning. Didn't do to hot. But it was fun anyway. Not to crowded. Fished roadrunners for the most part. Caught a few dinks one nice bass.

Hello Everyone: Okee yes the cfcs are much lower than last week to begin with. The fishing was slower in my opinion but they are still in there. My Buddy that went with me caught two Hybrids one 15inch and one 16inch. We brought home about 15 legal Sandies today.Had to throw back probably 3 times that to get one Legal Sandie. Also caught lots of Small Babby LMBass. Saw the guys on the otherside where the water was coming out of catch several Blue Cats about 5Lbs+ each I saw one caught that woulda went for about 8 Lbs. They were catching Gizzard shad and cutting them up to catch the Cats. There was one guy on parking lot side that was using Chicken Gizards as bait and was catchin Pan Size Cats also. So the fish are in there you just gotta work for them. Gotta Run GodZilla

Yeah, the water level is almost back to normal, hehe.
Were they catching the shad in a castnet? That's no longer legal there lol.

Godzilla, I don't believe any net of any kind is currently allowed for use of catching minnows or Shad at Llela. At least, the last time I was there, they had banned ALL nets for catching minnows and shad.
They have have repealed that ban though, I don't know.

Planning on hitting this area again this weekend. I'd like to head further down the river. Is it easier to take the parking lot side down or hike over the water gates and use that side to walk further down?
