Just got new glasses Tuesday - progressive lenses. I belive I can see better after a half bottle of Jack Daniels. I can't imagine tryin to wear these things while operating a bass boat at 60+ mph accross the lake. Anybody wear these while operating a boat and fishing? Any suggestions? Thanks

I wear them, you will adjust it just takes a couple of days for your eyes to adjust to being able to see. Or you may need to take your glasses back and make sure they got the prescription right.

One thing I found out is that you have to learn to move your head. Just moving your eyes is not enough. It is kind of like refocusing binoculars when you change the range.

I got my first progressives a few years ago. Man, I had a heck of a time getting used to them; it took two or three weeks. I had worn bifocals for about twenty years before. Once you get used to them, your head/eyes narurally go to the "right" place to see what you are looking at. Its almost like wearing single vision glasses again. The only problem I have had with them (same as bifocals) is when looking at something close in an unnatural place, like overhead (wiring a ceiling fan was tough).

The binocular comparison is exactly how I feel. It's like walkin around with binoculars strapped to my head, always having to dial in on what I want to see. I don't sit still much, ride a motorcycle, do a little woodworking, always piddling with something. I also anticipate bad vibes when worm, jig fishing where you need to watch your line. The line begins out at a distance and as it nears the boat I'm afraid I'll look like one of them bobble head dolls trying to keep focused! I've never had lined bifocals either, reckon they might be a better choice? Also tried to read a magazine and had to hold my head back and look down to focus and even then the print appeared to be rollin offshore. And what about laid back in a recliner watchin a ballgame --- you're lookin through the wrong part of the lense! UNCLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
