Fishing the sunday jackpot at somerville this past sunday. Weigh in is at noon and it was about 11:00 a.m. and I had no keepers so I went to my big fish spot to try to get at least the big fish. Fourth cast felt a tap set the hook and the fish to took off running and peeling drag. Thaught I had finally hooked a 10+!!! Well it was over 10 lbs...4 times that amount actually.



After about 5 min. it finally rolled and I knew that it was a BIG cat. Weighed it at the marina and it was 41.6 lbs!

It seems like I always catch them when I'm not going for them. It hit just like a bass and faught like one for a while, but once it rolled I knew what I had. Never thaught I would be disappointed about catching such a big fish lol

thats a great fish....you got the record in my book...you should check and see if you actually may have a set a tackle record for that lake with a fish for that size...just a though...had a buddy caught a 58 lbs carp on some 10 lbs line and stren sent him a year supply of fishing line.
