Fished Bridgeport this morning with Keith Bunch and his Devon group. we split the guys up and headed for the water.
Everything seemed normal at the first stop. marked afew and caught afew ...headed for lower unit for our second stop of the day ....spotted a lone bird fishing for shad decided to investigate as I close the distance between us and the lone gull afew fish began to surface...I called Keith and told him we might have something worth trying....before Keith arived a half dozen other gulls had joined the morning feast .. for the next hour and a half we wacked them and stacked them as fast as we could! Fish were schooling everywhere as far as the eye could see...we were definatly being attacked! there was no escaping them we tried to catch as many as we could but they would not leave us alone! we caught Hybrids up to 7lbs... mega magnum sandies... two at a time !!! one hybrid one sandy...what were they thinking? ......I felt helpless as we continued to reel in our attackers!!!..... At about 8:30am I called for a cease fire and put a stop to putting any more of the prisoners in the livewell!
the rest of the day was catch and release with a verbal warning leave us alone or we will eat our prisoners!!

the live wells were full and clients were complaining of cramping in their arms and backs.....
we retreated back at the boat ramp at about 11 am checking our back trail to make sure we were not followed by our over agressive attackers...
We defended ourselves with slabs and jigs in 25 to 30 ft of water...

just a guess but guessing between the two boats we caught 250 to 300 fish...cleaned two live wells full.. below our daily limit ...somewhere around 100 or so fish cleaned..

Definatly a day when Prayers for fish were answered !!!

There is nothing like a nice day during the week to catch fish. If everyday was like that it would be a guides dream come true. Hmmm I wonder what it would be like to be a guide. Oh now I remember, it is hard work and fun fishing is alot easier. I am glad it worked out well and all had fun.
