I've got a question I'm sure evrybody has got a favorite solution for, I just wonder what everyone else does. What is the quickest and best way to get the smell of fish off your hands at home or at the lake would be even better. I saw a thingymabob at a kitchen store and almost bought it. Just a piece of stainless steel you rub on your hands and it is supposed to get the smell gone. I almost bought it, but thought nah, I'm just here following the little lady around. But I was fishing the other day and wondered if you could use it in lakewater. I usually get it off at the house with Comet and a little dishsoap to kill the Comet smell. Weird huh?

Why would you want to do that? I thought that's why we fish....

Been fishing a lot during the day while the kids are at school. Somedays I really push the envelope and pull the boat directly to school to pick them up and smell terrible. Run errands on the way home some days. And sometimes pull the boat up at The Harbor to meet for lunch. I don't always look great, but I'd like to smell a little better.

Sprinkle salt on your hands and rub it around good, then rinse
Vinegar works well...
Johnson's Baby Magic baby shampoo works very well also (although it leaves 'em smellin' like baby powder).
No fish is too good for the grease.

Fast Orange Hand Cleaner works for me. It's normally used in auto repair shops, but I found it removes the fish smell from my hands, completely with one wash.

I buy the hand cleaning towels in the big can. They come in citrus and you can keep some in the rod storage of the boat. But.. I kinda like the fishy smell.

Fish smell. How do you get that? Oh yeah, got to catch fish.
When cleaning fish, I pull on a pair of surgeon gloves. Then wash with regular soap to get any smell left over. This seems to work well for me even if the glove gets pricked and leaks some.

that metal bar is called a Wonderbar and it works like a champ. don't ask me how it works cause i don't know, but my father-in-law got one and i used it after cleaning a ton of catfish and bream and i couldn't believe it. it's just a metal thing that looks like a bar of soap. doesn't have any soap or anything in it but it worked.
