WOW! Seems I am not insane after all. I mean what a racket that is, start a magazine, get a bunch of subscriptions, and then never send them out or only send part of them out. That is what set me off in the beginning because someone I know fell for this scheme and paid for a magazine they have never received. I have now started a magazine, PM me for the address to get a subscription and you can send me payment by check. It is called catfish silver magazine. I will retire in Tahiti next year. It is a shame to see people getting ripped off for their hard earned cash. The reason that the magazine is littered by hunting articles is because Luke is a die hard hunter, and the hunting articles pay for his hunting trips, and all his free hunting gear he gets. If he litters the magazine with hunting articles, not only does he get his free hunting trips and gear and his subscription money for which he only sends out part of the subscriptions on a semi regular basis. Well I guess all the white knights out there will think twice about defending him next time. As far as the "Catfish Gold Pro Staff" again I will not argue the tenure or credentials of some, because George Rule and Little D's reputations speak for themselves, but some are far more than questionable, being a guide does not necessary make someone a "pro". Some specifics? Look here where a so called "pro" posted that he fished with a guide and then a year later he is suddenly on the "catfish gold pro staff", this is what brought my attention t0 "catfish gold" in the first place, because a friend told me about all this at the boat ramp. I just now went and read all of this information and found that there are even cover ups and lies in this very post from the people involved in "catfish gold". http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbt...rue#Post1275986I could go on and on and continue to post dirt but I don't have the time or the patience, and this one is the most absurd example of a "pro". Again I am not saying the people on the "catfish gold pro staff" are not good people, I am just saying that SOME should not come even close to being considered a "pro". There are a lot of people with a LOT of credibility in catfishing throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas that are considered authoritys in the sport and they are not involved at all. It seems that other than Rule and Hansan most are "newbie" guides trying to get their name out there just any way they can, or trying to stay busy any way they can, by bottoming out the price on trips and littering the TFF with a post about how great they are every time someone catches a fish on their boat, I mean really. Don't anyone get me started on "giving back" and being a pro because they donate trips or take sick kids fishing or anything else. That is all great, but it unfortunately is incredibly polluted. If you have to post the fact that you are donating trips, or you have to post the fact that you did something nice, or have to post the fact that you took a sick kid fishing then it completely takes away from the nice thing you did, because you did it for the intent of promotion. Hey look at me, I did sommething nice carries a lot less weight than just doing something nice and getting the satisfaction of doing something nice. I could go on and on for hours, but will have to save some for another time. Until then, send in your subscription money for "catfish silver magazine" and watch to see who the next "catfish gold pro staff" is, I nominate Mike Ike for the next catfish pro!!!!!

Failure on someone elses part is no excuse for not meeting the expectations, nor for failure to produce a quality magazine.
Nobody said George or David or anyone else for that matter are in a scam, simply put, the "professional credentials" of the "pros" is under question, because it brings the credibility of everyone involved into question.
WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO SIGNED UP IN JULY AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED THEIRS?
I never brought your name up, but you continue to make it about you, and you continue to insist on defending catfish gold magazine, which really brings into question just what exactly your afilliation with them is and why you feel so compelled to defend the magazine.
Are you going to defend him forcing danny king bait down everyone's throat and leading others to think that everyone in the state is catching their fish on danny king bait?
Are you going to defend his running hunting articles in a catfishing magazine and cheating everyone from what they paid for?
What about sbursiks posts that he has FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE OF problems, yet nobody responds.
I have fished with George and David both as well as well as about every other catfish guide in north texas, but I won't fish with them again as long as they are endorsing a crooked organization that is ripping folks off.
The excuses are lame.

brother terry I ordered a tub of danny king bait and the mag subscription at the same time. I did get the bait, but never got the mag. what gives? I either want the mag, or my money back. that seems pretty reasonable.

LittlElmAngler, It is obvious you are anti CatfishGold..Who are you afilliated with???? A.C.A.T.S ?? another bait company, newspaper or magazine? Your attempt at destorying the magazine has failed...this site is made up of good guys. We may not always agree with each other but we respect each other..of course I will stand up for the magazine...they sponsor me..I know them personally ..and believe in it..If you dont like the magazine dont buy it...you claim you are just trying to help guys from getting ripped off...like your friend...you have an agenda and you know it! you have to much information to be a guy that is just trying to help out..come out of the closet or shut the door...your febble attempt at trying to discredit Catfish Gold has failed...I tried to help out a fellow fisherman with a problem that is very frustraiting....I told the facts and that is all I can do .. I have PM some of the guys that have been having problems with their magazine..I have not gotten a response as of yet ..I am not in customer service...I fish for the magazine...I do not run it...I do know the buisness side of it is more complicated than fishing....I will try and help how ever I can...As for "sbursiks"I am sure he is a nice guy but do not know him personally .I do know he is afilliated with A.C.A.T.S.. he is their web guy,of couse he has a problem with the magazine because the publicator of the magazine pulled out his finacial suport from a.c.a.t.s.....and yes they also complained about the hunting stories which makes me to believe you are part of that organization...one thing I do know is that the magazine is not a fly by night magazine..it is two years old. In Bass Pro,Gander MT. Boarders Books,Books a Million,HEB grocery stores,Krogers, and Cabela's..... You have under estimated the intelegence of the people on this forum....You do not get into these stores by being a fly by night Magazine...yes they have had some growing pains....every company does.. If you are a subscriber and TRUELY have a question about your magazine you can PM me and I will do what I can to help get you an answer....this is my last post publicly on this issue...I am not attacking A.C.A.T.S. I know some of the guys, they are great guys and personal friends of mine! The miff lies between afew guys and the Magazine ....nice try LittleElmAngler ...

As for "sbursiks"I am sure he is a nice guy but do not know him personally .I do know he is afilliated with A.C.A.T.S.. he is their web guy,of couse he has a problem with the magazine because the publicator of the magazine pulled out his finacial suport from a.c.a.t.s..... You got it wrong Brother Terry. They incorrectly claim that they "pulled" funding from ACATS. We "kicked" them out of ACATS because they were giving us a bad name with all of the complaints we were getting. The magazine was costing more than it was making so there was NO income to ACATS from it. My problems with the magazine were what I stated: 1. No customer support for magazines not delivered 2. Too many hunting articles There were other reasons too but I am not dragging personalities into this. Lets just say that some people were not willing to listen to what the subscribers wanted and the best interest of ACATS wasn't considered. Don't believe everything you're told there Brother Terry. Look at the complains just on this forum. I saw ALL of the complaints when I did the subscriptions on the web site. For a magazine that has been around 2 years they should have their act together and they don't. I don't call that growing pains. I call it bad business.

Sbusiks, I understand that both sides believe they are right. The truth usally lies somewhere in the middle.. I understand your frustration with customer service.. I too would like to see more done so that I would not have to do this...unfortunatly you can not please everyone, with what is written each month .Every business has it's critics and haters... McDonalds is very sucessful but has many critics and haters...that does not make them a bad company.... I love their fries but hate the taste of the Big Mac... and love the Mac Rib!they are not going to stop making the Big Mac and put the Mac Rib in its place...they will do what they think will help the business... the same with every company ..including Catfish Gold... I understand you invested your own time and at one time felt apart of the magazine also....It's a different Magazine and a different look ..the way managment thought it should go...not pleasing to some but to others a great magazine...please do not think I was trying to rip you ...I have tried to put myself in your shoes for a moment and respect your feelings ...I have friends that do not like each other but I still remain friends with all of them.I am sorry if I offended you in anyway and hope you except this apology sincerly and do wish the best for you.

No worries Terry. I'm not miffed in any way and don't feel attacked. You're right. There are 2 sides to every story and I hope that things get better with the magazine. I still get a copy almost every month, well at least until I responded on here Scott

Well, with all that said,I got mine today in the mail.I think it was well worth the wait.I read all the articles on catfishing and thought it was a awsome source of information.I was really impressed.I encourage people to give it a chance.I work in the customer service industry and [censored] happens. If somebody was ripped off or etc...I can understand your frustration, but remember it is okay to give somebody a break. What I mean is,in this world of technology, where you can point a cursor at something and have at your door the next morning it is easy to forget the human side of things.I bet some guy was working for the mag. and was very upset himself at the problem he was facing. If I lost my money I would be very upset.I cant blam yall for venting.I am sure every side has its own story so I will just say this.I did start this topic...I did get mine(yipee)...It was very informative....and it feels good to forgive. Thanks to every body for the response,I have learned alot and tight lines to ya!!!
