Brian brought his son up to Ray Roberts for a morning trip today. It was so nice not to have to battle the wind on the lake like yesterday. The best way I can describe the crappie fishing on RR the last couple of days is scattered. We would pick up a few and then move on to the next area. I feel the crappie are between patterns at this time so they are not a lot gathered in one area at a time. We did end up with a nice mess of crappie with 28 keepers with many coming on jigs today. We must have caught around 60 crappie total woot and around 10000000000??? little bass bang. I look for the crappie bite to pick up a lot as soon as it cools off some this month.
Thanks again Brian
Cliff

28 keepers out of around 60 caught.

Any of you fellows without a boat violin or just can't find a pattern....Cliff is HIGHLY recommended!!! Fish were scattered, but he'll make every effort to keep ya in fish. He sure did it for us...couldn't be more pleased!!!

sounds like a great trip

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Hi Cliff,
The bass spawn this year must have been outstanding. Those dang trash fish were everywhere on Lewsiville. I took my Grandpa out last Friday, and we caught between 30-40 small largemouth on minnows and jigs, and only two crappie and one sand bass. I wish I had my taken camera, as he actually caught one that was exactly the same size of the minnow he was trying to eat.
