i have caught cats in creeks and farm ponds on a fly rod and hopper patterns on top

I've seen two channel cats caught on a topwater. One was on Hubbard, a buddy pitched a hul-a-popper up by some lilypads and I saw my Father catch a nice channel cat on a pop-r in a stock pond. I have caught several over the years on jigs and roostertails...

I've caught some nice cats on Texas rigged plastics(while Bass Fishin), but more importantly, one night while catfishin from the bank, I caught a 6lb LMB on a dead minnow I was about to pull in.
