I saw a twin engined tri-toon on Conroe a couple years back that I would guess was going about 55-60 up close to StowAWay marina.
When you see a pontoon shooting rooster tails and chine walking it'll sure make you do a double then triple take then start laughing.

I have got to get me one of those, that's awesome. How would you feel about being passed up by a pontoon boat, if you are in 50K bass boat..... I would hate to see the guy drivin the crappie Duster (or whatever the name was) on Fork behind the wheel of that!! That guy was hauling...not to mention cutting folks off at the ramp

That's nuts. They were about one small gust from flipping that thing over on it's back and killing every around them. And my guess is they were going 51 MPH not 89. OK maybe 54. Tops. Bad guess. http://www.playcraftboats.com/record.htm

OK. 81 not 89.
And who else but a Hillbilly would put 2 300HP Mercuries on a pontoon boat?

I believe it. I had a bass buggy, 20 foot pontoon, sporting one of the old 115 Mercs. The thing was hell to start but once she got warmed up it was spooky fast. I probably should not mention the rated HP for the boat.

That video was on BoatTest.com as an article about the motors. So before you just throw out an opinion without really knowing facts...there are people crazy enough to go for those records.
