I like yaking around the Lighthouse lakes area. Just make sure you bring water. You can get lost in there if you'r not careful.

Off the road. Get a map, you'll need one anyway. If your not familiar with the area, I would look for another area.

Agree with txtac...the Lighthouse Lakes and Brown and Roots are both good places to kayak and also have pretty easy access. Lighthouse Lakes Park is located right off of 361 as you're going towards the ferry. Txtac is right...get a map and bring a GPS if you have it...even people that kayak the lakes regularly get lost back in there.
