Why does everyone mount them on the left side like that is that the only way ? Best way ? Easiest way ?

Another question when you have two deep cycle batteries ran together with a jumper wire,How do you charge them with a regular 12 volt charger?

my t/m is on the starboard side.......

if you have two batteries configured for 24 volts, and you have only a single one-bank charger, here's your choices:

1. connect the charger to one battery (red to (+) and black to (-). When it's finished charging, connect it to the second battery in the same manner. The jumper wire can stay where it is.

Or, if the batteries are evenly matched as to age and capacity, you can do it like this:

B. move one end of the jumper wire to the other post, get a second jumper wire and connect the two empty posts. At this point your batteries will be connected (+) to (+) and (-) to (-) (like if you were jump-starting a car). Connect the charger (red to either (+) and black to either (-)).

Either way will take about the same amount of time.
