I have often wondered if you took an average acre of productive water on a lake what is the appropriate break down of fish? It seems like I can catch a cat on more areas on a lake than say a bass. If you threw out a one acre net and counted the break down, how many fish would be cats, bass, perch, crappie, shad etc...?

Easier to catch catfish than it is a bass.

Yes it is but that is not the question. What it the fish distribution in a given body of water?
