Yesterday morning and today I went out to Lake Lewsiville here in Little Elm. Both times i've seen an obscene amount of carp right off the bank by about 25ft, sometimes closer. They've been hanging out on top of the water. Several look like they'd top 20-30lbs! I'd like to take a crack at bringing one in. How would you rig your line and what type of bait would you recommend?
Thanks in advance!
Ed.

If they are actively feeding off the surface, they are probably taking insects and things like that. But if they are definitely feeding, you might be able to toss our chunks of bread and bagels, or anything else that floats, and see if they start eating it. If they do, thread/wad a peice onto a small, number 6 hook, and freeline ( No weight ) it out to the fish.
If they are not feeding off the surface directly, you might try a float rigged up with some sweet corn on a small hook, suspended down about as far as the fish are.
Of course, just cause they are near the surface doesn't necessarily mean they are feeding. Sometimes carp will cruise together from one spot to feed to another, and aren't interested in anything else along the way.

Floater fishing, possibly the funnest way to take a carp, especially if you can be selective and target the biggest ones in the group.

Stu - I agree mate - Dog Biscuits are good as well.
Let them soak until they are hookable (don't let them go mushy) just the correct water consistancy and it gives you weight to cast the biscuit out as well.
Or Floating Bread crust - I have also used Marshmallows - the only problem is that I eat more than the Carp.
Enjoy
