Hi all,

I'm looking at using my boat to tow kids on various small water toys...maybe skis at some point. I understand that there is a pole of sorts that you can drop in where the rear fishing seat goes, and then that has a place to connect your rope. I would appreciate any feedback or maybe a web site I can find such things.

Thanks

There is also a "ski-tow rope" that you can use for tubes, etc that is much easier to use in my opinion. It connects to the back of your boat and has a floating 6 or 9in foam tube that keeps it away from your motor. I bought my gear at Marine Max in Arlington. Ski tow- range from 10-30 bucks. Ski Pylon's alot more expensive and are not recommended for pulling tubes. Hope this helps.

I put a pylon on my Bay Stealth. It required a threaded seat base. It has two angles struts. The attachment points for these had to be installed by drilling through the deck and nutting them up from underneath. You have to have access to the bottom of the deck.

It works great and is easy to remove for fishing. It is a Swiveleze brand and all stainless steel. It took about an hour to install, including installing a new seat base from scratch. If I remember right it was around $225.

My thoughts as well. I got my tow rope attachment from Overtons catalog. My boat had one of the pylons attached at some point in it's life - both of the attachment points on the gunwale got sheared off by some force.
