In the area where I live, I have to pick Rudy's. I have heard Sonny Bryan's in Dallas is pretty tasty. Would like to give them a try.

Where I live the best place to eat bbq is Rudy's as well and that is pretty dang sad. There is no such thing as good or even decent bbq in deep sotuh Texas. The best bbq I have ever had is Tex's bbq in between Washington and Brenham. Read the Tex's bbq thread.

The best place I have found is at my brothers house where we cook everything from steak, quail, beef, chicken, all kinds of sausages, fajita meat, stuffed jalepenos and buffalo turds, salmon, catfish, pork loin, pork chops, corn on the cob, vegetables, turkey. Well, you name it we have cooked it on the grill and being in a Czech family there was usually a little beer involved.

Around Ft. Worth, I don't think that you can beat Cousins, although I would like to try Railhead someday.

In FtWorth, I'd say that Thr Railhead is the best I've had, the next would be Riscky's in the stockyards, man their all you can eat beef ribs are great!!!
Keep your powder dry & don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes!!

Mt. Zion in Huntsville was my favorite place of all time. Not even sure it's still open, but it was really good home cookin'.

Big D's at lake tawakoni is pretty dadgummed good i have a hard time eating barbecue in public- i am such a messy eater when it comes to good barbecue, especially chicken
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
