I have a Lowrance 332C and the GPS Module is not responding. I have the GPS module connected directly into the network port on the unit itself. Is there another piece that I am missing, someone said something about a cord that looks like a Y, that will make it work.

My other question is how does the GPS module get its power, because the way I have it hooked up right now, it doesnt seem to have power...

Any help would be nice

Try Lowrance web site.
They have pretty much all of the manuals on the website.

Thank you,

I have tried that and cant seem to make heads or tails of it,

Anyone with a Lowrance GPS can tell me if they have a connector that looks like a Y if that's what they use to get power to their unit.

i have the "y" connector on my 332c. the bottom end of the y plugs into the unit, than the gps module plugs into one leg of the y,and the last leg is for you power source...at least thats the way mine is hooked up.

Your module needs to be at least 3 feet from the unit to fix your not responding issue!!

As for your power, you should have a (2) diffrent power leads, one for your unit and one for module, which needs to be 12volt switched AND fused.

It should have come with either the 'y' cord or a gray plastic 't' connector. Mine came with the 't' connector. Regardless, each has three connections: the unit, the antenna, and a 60 ohm terminator.

The power wires for the antenna are in the power cable. There should be two sets of red/black wires. One set is power for the unit and the other is power for the antenna. They both must be powered. Fuse the hot(red) wires separately. It's also recommended that the antenna power be on a separate switch because it pulls power all the time and will run your battery down over time.

I don't know about Rick's boat, but on my Triton (TR186) the module is mounted on the flat spot just to the right of the windshield and the GPS works fine. (My 332C is located in the dash).

And we just installed a 520c on my friends skeeter. His DF is on that spot to the right of the windshield and the antenna is just in front of it a few inches and it works fine too.

I had my module mounted in the same place your talking about, worked fine for a few months, then started giving me the "not respondind" message, I moved the module per Lowrance and it works like a champ now.
From what I have been reading/hearing, some units are ok with the module being mounted that close and some are not. Dosen't make much sence, you would think that they would all be one way or another.
