I am looking for a place to hunt for arrowheads in central Texas. I would like to do some light digging, but would be okay with just looking on the surface if you do not want any digging. Please contact me if you have a place or know of a place where I could possibly find some arrowheads. It is just a hobby, I am not a reseller or anything like that.

Thanks!
John

Look on, or just below, bluffs overlooking rivers (or river channels on reservoirs)after a rain. You don't need to dig. Think: where would you hang out if you were an indian?

Don't hunt them around Rayburn, they will throw the book at you!

We used to find quite a few at Somerville. Maybe a tougher with all the lakes being up.

Sulfur River near Paris, Tx. Especially after a hard rain.

I have also seen some nice ones come off of Lake Lewisville, especially when the lake was low last year.

Call up one of the local gravel pits in the area, they just might let you come out on the weekends or something. I know of 2 on F.M.485 just nort of Cameron, about 45 minutes from B/CS

Wow, I never knew it was illegal in some places. Is there anywhere in/ near Fort Worth that would be worth checking out?

John, I helped my uncle look for them many times when I was a kid. He had one of the premier collections in the country and I'll tell you how he found them. The ONLY time and place he looked for them was in freshly plowed fields right after it rained.
