Is it true that you don't need a fishing license if fishing from the bank at a state park? I remember a similar thread last spring but don't recall the final determination.

I was in Walmart getting my license and it seems that this year (all year) a license is not required while fishing from the bank of a Texas State Park or in anybody of water that is completely within the confines of a Texas State Park. This is inclusive of Saltwater fishing as well. I was quite surprised as last year it was only for a specific weekend during the year.

If you are fishing from the bank only in a state park. This law does not apply if you launched from a state park and are fishing on open water.
