Does anyone know what ramps are open on the south/north side of Grapevine?
I have also been hearing that the sandy's have been schooling and it is getting hot, is this true? The last time I fished Grapevine sandy's was 5 years ago and they were doing the 1/2 mile radius shad busting. Just curious if this is happening yet, or will it happen close to October like my memory serves.

I went out on 8-5 and had to launch at silver lake. I got a late start at 11:00 and it was a little windy so there was no surface activity but I let the wind push my boat against the tires and fished roostertails along the tires and we got 25 keepers between 2 of us. The tires at scotts only produced small ones. If you get too close to the bank you will only get small black bass. (we caught about 100 of those) Good luck.

Its just west of the Gaylord hotel. To get there you go up Hwy 26 and turn north on Dooley, go about 2 miles then a left at the T and it will take you to the ramp

Dove Loop won't open for a while. The lake will need to drop another 4 or 5 feet.

Yep except for the fact that there is no where to park! I just went by there. There is barely enough room to parallel park along the lake side of the road. They have posted no parking signs all along the non-lake side of the road. The parking looked like a disaster. However, the ramp was open. thumb You will definetly need a partner that can drive the boat or the truck/trailer and be willing to walk 200 yards back to the boat.

I dropped by Sunday afternoon and decided to pass and go to Ray Bob. With the some of the dock still underwater, launching by your self will be a little tricky. If youre going to use the high water ramp I too recommend having a partner to help out. And who ever parks bring your walking shoes.

Isn't that the whole point of having fishing partners? grin

so what did the rain do to the ramps? I am hoping to get out this week, should I just go to the north ramp? Which one is open and how do you get there?

went sunday sand bass were biting but not worth the hassel go to ray bob. parking is terrible. seems no one knows how to park a boat trailer anymore the spaces left between rigs was just small enough that you couldnt get in there and i only have a 16ft Nitro had to leave my boat unattended and walk a long way with my four year old grandson (they're not much into walking)caught alot of small black bass as well fun for him but not really what i was looking for. went by other ramps via road and water dont see them opening for a while. raybob i had 75 sandbass by noon???????

What's up everyone, TFF virgin here? Launched out of Katies Woods sat morning. Had to walk a little bit, but need the exercise. Headed towards the area behind Silver Lake Marina, few small sandies. They were chasing some tiny shad. But, boy they were boiling. Then finally headed over to the island and trolled a little bit. Man, I should have gone there first. Caught some nice ones and even caught two decent size blues. Wish, I could have stayed a little longer. College football was on, so had to leave em for next time.
