alarm system..scare thieves HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...funniest thing ive read on here in awhile! Im sorry but the pros who jacked 10K worth of my [censored] out of my 20I got all of it out in less than 2 minutes. Oh and pros dont waste thier time with worm boxes..they go for the kill...rods and reels.
i came back from a tournament at 1230am, parked my boat in the driveway and at 6am, everything was gone with alarm still going off. No one gives two SH^&% about an alarm wailing anymore.
Think about this: pry the lid open takes less than 5 seconds especially with two people, pull the lid hinge off the ball mount takes about two seconds (then the lid opens nice and wide so yanking rods out is no problem at all), then the rods slip out like butter...i could get all my [censored] out in less than a minute with this technique if i was a dirty thief..a pro could do it faster.
As annoying as it is fishing 3-4 days minimum, i pull all rods out. Thanks James for reminding me about that!

I always remove ALL gear while staying at a motel. I also request a room right by the front desk so I can park my boat right in front of them.

I only use my Loc-R-Bars while going to or from the lake on a long trip. Once there I take everything out and put it in the room and leave the lids unlocked. At home everything is in the house.
Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

Thanks James for reminding me about that! No problem Mike, just try and keep that noisy alarm quiet, ok? We're trying to sleep here...

You should be taking a look at my bass boat alarm system. Comes in a kit form for easy installation and I can get you into one for less that $500 today. These are totally invisible, remotely controlled, very loud alarm with GPS options etc. The sensors are pressure sensitive pulsors that will detect either pressure on the lid by someone stepping onto the boat or by trying to open the hatch. They work and give you peace of mind when on the road.

I would like to see one before buying one... I agree that its almost to late ones the alarm go's off. It doesnt take long to just grab s@#$ and run. They dont care if something busted because it is all free to them. I also take everything out of my boat when im at a hotel and just take want i think ill need the next day. Do most of you guys cover your boats at hotels??

Cordless baby monitor one unit in the boat one on the night stand of my motel room. It picks up any noise for under $50.00 being a light sleeper helps.

Right beside the monitor is the SigTauer 40 Cal... they better be able to out run the 18 pieces of lead that will be coming their way.. Nothing worse than a DAYUM thief.... Mo

If you need any gear or baits until you get more stuff let me know. Not sure if this was recent but it sucks you got hit. Holler if you need anything.

Thanks mark i appreciate that. Actually my insurance covered all but the deductible and now that my dad is running the cabelas in Arizona, he arranged to get me an employee discount on most of it. I actually came out on top on this one...they didnt touch anything else but the rods. Thanks for the offer again.
oh and tip for anyone reading this: keep all boxes, receipts, take pictures of your stuff, and you should come out ok after a theft. Alarms, locR bars, etc are great luxury items to help prevent novice thieves, but a good thief will get you eventually even if you have your Doberman strapped to the steering wheel.
