I have found that people are all so differant on which hand they use to reel with a spinning reel. I think that most right handed people reel with the left hand. I for one am right handed and reel with my right hand. What about you????????????????

Before "skirted spools" and the transferrable handles, standard spinning reels had the crank on the left. Most folks are righthanded. So I guess the idea was to work the rod & lures with your good hand/arm and crank with the other. Although righthanded, I've always cranked with my left. Trying the other way feels very awkward...

I like holding the spinning rod with my right hand and since I learned that was a long time back it's normal to me. You know the spinning reels with changeable handles from one side to the other have not always been like that. Most of the old ones you only had one way and that was reel left handed. It really solidified for me back when i lived near Corpus and fished the bays there and almost exclusively use a spinning reel for about 10-11 years. That is the only time I didn't fresh water fish at all for a long period like that. I just love catching big oold Redfish in shallow water, nothing like it! The runs were fenominal and since I was using just 10# line they could make really long runs on the flats. It feel just plan wrong to me to try reeling a spinning reel with my right hand, but casting reel I use just the opposite. Skip

Right-handed, but like my handle on left side and reel left-handed.
This allows me to use my right hand for a better hook-set, and allows me to fight the fish with my stronger arm.
