Gents,

I'm installing a Fishmark 480 on my stick drive 16' boat. The unit will sit on the bow but transducer must be on the transom and power has to go back as well. The left side of the boat has no wiring, just a steering cable. I want to run the transducer cable AND power cable together down the left side, mount the x-ducer on the left side of the transom, and run the power across to the right-rear where the battery sits.

Man that's a confusing read.

My questions: Will the xducer cable pick up interference from it's own power cable if run together? Will the power cable pick up interference from crossing under the outboard inside the transom? Given my setup, is there a better way to route cables? (Don't say buy a new boat!) Thanks guys.

Cool, thanks. Taking it out tonight, we'll see how it runs.

Hmmm... I had quite a bit of noise on the screen at all depths. I'm going to lower the transducer just in case the problem is the hull making turbulance on it. I'm running it with no other electrical equipment on, and hoping that it's own power cable isn't giving it interference. Any suggestions?
