I have an externally mounted transducer for my 337c on my 05 Nitro 700. Lake Fork is not kind to that set up. I'm going to buy another transducer to shoot through the hull. My question is can I mount this thing myself? Is there any secret as to where to mount the puck in the bilge area. Are there stringers in the floor to be considered as to the location. Or should I let a professional install it?

This is not brain science. A little care and all will be well.

A little time and a little energy can take care of you. The stringers will not be in the bottom of the boat. You will need to go to the back within a foot or so (mine is 4" from the bilge drain) of the drain. A dremel tool is great for this part. You should grind a couple of layers of the fiber glass off (lots of boats have air pockest in the top layers) until you get to firm glass.

Be sure to rough it up with some coarse sand paper. Rough up the puck and put the epoxy in the ground out area and place the puck. A little weight on top helps keep it secure till the glue dries.

A word of caution: when you mix the epoxy stir it gently to keep air bubbles out.
